Download policy
Short version: you have 24 hours, the link is never reissued, and once you have downloaded the file the sale is final.
The 24 hour window
Every purchase opens a download window that lasts 24 hours from the moment payment succeeds. Within that window you can come back to your download page as often as you like and fetch the file again.
When the window closes, the file is deleted. Links are not reissued, and there are no exceptions - not for a lost email, a full inbox, a broken laptop, or a holiday. This is not a policy we can bend on request, because after the window there is nothing left on our side to send you. Please save the file somewhere you trust as soon as you have it.
Getting your file
After paying you land on a download page with a live countdown. It asks for the email address you gave at checkout, and hands you the file.
That address is the only key to your download, so it has to match what you typed at checkout. Bookmark the download page, or keep the browser tab open: the address on its own is not enough to find your order.
Refunds
These are digital files, delivered as soon as you have paid. By buying you ask for your file to be made available straight away, and you accept that once a download has been issued the sale is final. The right to cancel does not survive delivery, which is the ordinary position for digital content bought this way.
If you have not fetched your file at all, write to us inside the 24 hour window and quote your order reference. We record the time of every download against that reference, so we can see whether a file was taken and when.
None of that affects your rights if something is wrong with what we sold you. If the file is corrupt, or is not the photograph the page described, tell us and we will put it right.
Looking after your file
Once the file reaches you it is yours to look after. Keeping it safe is your responsibility, and we cannot replace it after the window closes, whatever went wrong: a dead disk, a lost phone, a cloud account you can no longer sign in to, or someone else on your laptop. On our side the file is gone. Back it up while you have it.
The same goes for keeping it to yourself. The marks identify the order a file was sold under, not the person holding it, so a copy that turns up in circulation points back to your order whether you put it there or not. Keep it out of shared folders and public links.
What we keep
We do not store your email address. The order record on our side is a reference number, the photograph it was for, and a few times: when you paid, when your window closes, and when a download was issued. Nothing in it identifies you. Your payment details never reach us at all; Stripe handles the payment and holds its own record of it.
There is one exception, and it is yours to make. If you write to us about an order and leave an address to be answered on, we keep that message and that address for ninety days and then delete both. The address stays on the message and never joins the order record. You can leave it blank: we will still read what you sent, and we can answer through the receipt Stripe sent you.
Watermarking
Every file we deliver is individually marked, and the marks identify the order it was sold under rather than the person holding it. Some are written into the file's information, some into the picture itself, and we do not say which marks any particular file carries.
Your download is for your own personal use. It is not licensed for redistribution, resale, or commercial use, and a file found in circulation can be traced back to the order that bought it. If you would like a commercial or print licence, write to us from the contact link on your download page and we will sort one out.
If something goes wrong
If your file will not download, or the page says preparing for more than a few minutes, get in touch inside the 24 hour window. The contact link is on your download page and carries the order reference with it, so we can see what you bought and what happened to it. A genuine fulfilment failure on our side is something we can fix. An expired window is not.
The form only takes messages about an order that has been paid for,
which is why it wants that reference. If you have lost the link to
your download page, it is
/download/?order= followed by the reference in your
Stripe receipt.
